From the 4th of December till the 6th of December, ICT 2018 is taking place in Vienna, a research and innovation event that focuses on the European Union’s priorities in the digital transformation of society and industry. VRT Innovation will be present with various projects in the large exhibition hall. Interaction and hybrid radio with MARCONI and HRADIO

VRT showcases their projects about the future of radio at the booths of MARCONI and HRADIO. MARCONI aims to bring radio presenters closer to their listeners by supporting interaction with an integrated platform. As MARCONI lets you experience the radio presenter's point of view, HRADIO offers you that of the listeners. At their booth, you will discover some of the functionalities of a hybrid radio experience, such as participating in polls, pausing, rewinding and listening where and when you like.

You are able to find MARCONI and HRADIO at Hall X4 under the theme “Transforming industry and economy” at booths T09  T010

News personalisation with CPN

The Content Personalisation Network project (CPN) is working on building a new, trustworthy approach to personalise digital content, delivering the right information, at the right time, in the right context. The overall goal is to identify the necessary features for trusted personalised news offerings and showcase them in a proper and reusable prototype available for testing by third parties. At the CPN booth of ICT, we will showcase a test platform, where visitors are able to enter their preferences and find relevant news articles.

You are able to find CPN at Hall X3 under the theme “Inspiring a digital society” at booth I23

Networking sessions by the New European Media Initiative and the FANDANGO project

The FANDANGO project offers a platform that supports the detection of fake news, images and video, and helps to verify the authorship and truthfulness of news by offering verified data from diverse official sources at national and international level.

With the networking session at ICT, we would like to increase the number of users of the platform, showing and communicating its features, but also listening to the needs of target users, e.g. journalists, media consumers, public authorities, and other users such as researches, SME and large enterprises. In addition, we seek to identify other projects that are tackling similar topics and find possible synergies to continue collaborating in future EU Calls for 2019-2020 and FP9, and thus, increase the capacity of the platform and its possible applications, not only in terms of information, but also in terms of business and reputation, delving further into the social media problem. Since fake news is a global problem that concerns the society as a whole, FANDANGO aims to incorporate the feedback of all the sectors involved.

The networking session of FANDANGO takes place in Room L7 on the 5th of December from 9:00 till 9:30

During the networking session of the New European Media Initiative, the NEM wants to promote their vision towards a more immersive and interactive content world, including its technological and societal challenges. It will be an opportunity to present the current NEM vision where immersive communication and interactive content will enable natural experiences and natural interactions with remote people very similar as real-time face-to-face experiences and interactions.

This session also aims to get comments, inputs, from the audience in shaping the Future Media Internet in its visionary, innovative, challenging and ambitious services offering, particularly from the content vertical sector, including the creative industries.

The networking session of FANDANGO takes place in Room L7 on the 5th of December from 10:00 till 10:45
